Explore Bogor Halimun National Park & Beyond

For those of you who stay in Jakarta,

Just take an early morning train to Bogor, then we’ll pick you up at the station at 8 AM.

Then drive you to the Halimun Salak National Park. On the way, we will stop to enjoy the panoramic views such as rice terraces, vegetable plantations, hills, and mountains.

Continue drive to the gate of the national park. There we will take you for jungle trekking or a walk to the forest, passing small rivers, valleys of green trees, and rocks that stretch out in front of your eyes. After a 3-hour walk, you will arrive at an active volcano, Ratu Crater.

The crater area actually consists of three craters: the Queen crater (the largest), the Paeh (death crater), and the Hurip (life crater). It’s an astounding landscape—a vast hillside of white rocks, steaming sulphur, gasses, bubbling water, and steaming mud.

After finishing visiting the volcano, we will take another route to get back, so you see and enjoy the views on the other side (needs 2 hours down). (This route is rarely taken by other visitors).

Then we will take you for a swim and refresh your body after a long trip at the Waterfall.

After you feel satisfied, we will drive you back and transfer you to the train station at 6 PM, so you can easily return to Jakarta by train.

(If you have a group of more than 4 people, we can drive you to Taman Mini Indonesia in Jakarta without extra cost).

Day 1: Culture & Nature

Just take the morning train to Bogor, then we will pick you up from the station at 9 AM.

First, we will drive you to the Botanical Garden in Bogor. You can visit the garden for 1.5 hours. After that, we’ll take you to the countryside to see the local people’s activities such as making traditional music instruments (Gamelan) and wooden puppets (Wayang Golek).

Then go for a walk around the village, rice fields, vegetables, bananas, and pineapple plantations.

Our journey will continue to The Halimun Salak National Park. There we take you walking into the woods to enjoy the beauty of The Ciparay Waterfall, where you can swim in a small river with clear spring water from the mountains.

Before it gets dark, we will bring you to The Bamboo House on the beautiful hill to spend the night. If the weather is good, we will create a small party with a bonfire. (For those interested in Indonesian cuisine, we can provide free cooking lessons).

Day 2: Sunrise, Trekking & Crater

When you wake up in the morning, you will enjoy the beautiful sunrise that seems to come out from behind the mountain. While having breakfast in front of the room, the beautiful nature and birds are singing as if they are wishing you a good morning.

After finishing your breakfast, we will take you for Jungle Trekking (a long walk through the forest), passing small rivers, valleys of green trees, and rocks that stretch out in front of your eyes. After a 3-hour walk, you will arrive at the active volcano of Ratu Crater.

Day 3: Tea Plantation, Puncak & Bandung

After finishing breakfast, we leave the national park and drive to Puncak Pass. There we will walk around the tea plantations and see people producing natural honey.

Then go to the top of the tea mountain used for Paragliding activities. We will take lunch at a traditional restaurant serving authentic West Java food (Satay) in the middle of the tea plantation.

Our journey continues to Cianjur, where we stop at the old bridge built by the Dutch a long time ago over the big Citarum river.

After that, we drive directly to Bandung. We will drop you off at your hotel in Bandung or at the train station.

Day 5: Temple & Traditional Village

We start the day by visiting Cangkuang Temple, the oldest Hindu temple in West Java.

Then visiting Kampung Naga, an authentic traditional village that preserves the old Sudanese way of life.

Continue drive to the beach of Pangandaran.

Stay overnight in a hotel near the beach.

Day 6: Green Canyon & Beaches

An exciting day exploring the coastal wonders:

• Visiting the traditional Fish Market.
• Exploring the famous Green Canyon (Body Rafting optional).
• Batu Karas (Surfing beach).
• Batu Hiu (Shark Rock).
• Visit the Turtle Hatchery conservation.

Back to the hotel in the afternoon.
